Scan freezes at 50%

We really appreciate your valuable efforts which you have taken to fix it. In AVG 2016 version we do have AVG ZEN as a interface for AVG Protection Free. Due to the arrival of new threats and infections, we have updated our AVG security program with high new security patches and updates to enhance the computer security. AVG ZEN is a interface for AVG Internet Security and AVG PC Tune up for unlimited Devices. You can also find HMA VPN and AVG Web TuneUp cirlces on the Zen interface. HMA VPN is another separate paid program and it helps to hide your IP address so that no hackers can hack your PC. AVG Web TuneUp is the free browser add-on and it helps you to browse securely on the Internet. Since you have mentioned that you are able to scan your system after restarted,we would request you to get back with us if you are facing any issues with AVG again. Thank you.

Windows 10 initial full system scan freezes at 50%.  Stops scanning and won't respond.  Tried uninstalling and reinstalling; same problem.

Freezes on:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\volmgrx.sys

"Pause" or "Stop" is not responding as well. 

Any help is appreciated.

AVG Zen

Build 1.111.2.45832

I was able to work around it by restarting my computer until AVG Zen allow a fresh scan.  Then I did an anti-rootkit scan FIRST, which I was able to fully complete without any problems.

Then, I restarted my computer again.

Then, I was able to do a full system scan without hanging up.

Pure luck.
