Scan is causing device to attempt at accessing FTP

I have an APC UPS device in my facility connected to the network. When one of the employees at my facility ran a scan through AVG, it set off an email notification trigger on my APC UPS device notifying that a device is trying to access the FTP interface for the APC UPS device.

I received 50+ emails in the span of 4 minutes. I tracked down the IP of the device it said was trying to connect to the FTP, and I determined it came from a laptop from a user in my facility who just performed a scan through AVG.

Are there any settings in the application that are scanning the ports/devices on the local area network? How can I prevent this from occurring again?

Any advice is appreciated.

The user is using AVG AntiVirus Free version 23.12.8700.815
