Scan permanently frozen

I've been having some trouble with my wifi recently, and I wanted to make sure there wasn't anything on my end, with my forcibly upgraded (against my will) Windows 7->10 computer that was causing it, so I decided to do a system scan with AVG Internet Security (Version 16.121.7859) , but apparently that was a major mistake. When I started up the scan, it ran just as it should, but less than 2 seconds later, I encountered a problem: it got stuck at 386 files, on a system32 file it calls "Rootkits"… and thinking that it was relatively fine, just it doing its thing, I let it do its thing for about 5 hours before I had to shut my computer down with it still stuck at the same file… but less than an hour ago, when I started up my computer, I found out that it's STILL running its scan, and STILL stuck on the same f***ing file… but that's not the whole problem: my problem is that thanks to this, "AVG Watchdog Service" is PERMINANTLY taking up a whopping 25-30% of my CPU…

Is there anything I can do to fix this? do I need to uninstall and reinstall, like your auto-solution suggested (Yes, the first two "solutions" it gave me were "How to uninstall AVG Internet Security" and "How to uninstall AVG software", followed by "How to Download and install AVG AntiVirus or Internet Security")

Hello BL,
We regret for the inconvenience caused. We would request you to confirm whether you have installed AVG Internet Security as trial or paid version. Thank you.

alright, here it is: still the exact same as it was back then
scan stops at this file

Hello B L,
We do understand your concern, we apologize for the difficulties. There is a possibility to retrieve your license if you have your alternate email which is registered with AVG or the proof of purchase/bank statement so that we can locate your account and provide you with more details.

Please install the trail version of AVG for temporarily and we suggest you to contact our support team http://avgclick.me/AVGsales via online chat where they will help you with license retrieval. Thank you!

I'm not exactly 100% sure, but the license information says that the license expires on the 17th of January, 2017

Hello BL,
We really appreciate your valuable efforts which you have taken to fix it.
Please wait for some more minutes to complete the AVG scanning process. If you are still experiencing the same issue as you said earlier, we would request to provide screen shot of the AVG scan interface to assist further.

Thank you.

well that's all fine and dandy; I managed to put it on the exception list, dispite the link you gave me having broken images, but the scan is still stuck, it's still using up my CPU, and I can't find a single way to stop, or even pause it in ANY way (except to do YET ANOTHER uninstall/reinstall)
