Hello Christopher, I apologize for the inconvenience caused. By keeping the AVG priority settings to high you are allocating more resources to AVG. Hence it will take longer time than the normal scan. The duration of scan vary with the size of the file also. Thank you.
I have AVG on all my computers and have it set to run a full system scan every morning at 7. I will generally turn on my computers and go take a shower and get ready for work. Most days, the scans are complete within a half-hour. However, some days the SAME COMPUTER, running the SAME SCAN, will take four or five HOURS. i don't even log on until after I am out of the shower, and I have the AVG priority set to HIGH, so why is there such a wide variety of scan times for the same device with the same programs? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated. This problem has happened on all of my computers, by the way.
