Hello Lucky,
We are glad to clarify about AVG Internet Security for Mac.
Smart Scan quickly scans the most vulnerable areas of your Mac.
If you want to make any changes in settings, you need to choose customized scan.

Please try the above steps and let us know. Thank you.
Please help me understand the differences between the scan types used in the AVG Internet Security for Mac v. 20.3 desktop application. There seem to be inconsistencies in their usage, and the documentation does not define the following terms found on:
The opening panel of the application:
- Smart Scan
The Scan Central panel with buttons to initiate four scan types, each with general descriptions:
- Smart Scan
- Deep Scan
- Targeted Scan
- External Storage Scan
And the Create New Custom Scan panel, however, with different scan type options:
- Targeted Scan
- Deep Scan
- Mac Scan
These inconsistencies result in the following questions:
- Is the Smart Scan not customizable?
- Why is External Storage Scan not listed as a scan type, and is it also not customizable?
- What is a Mac Scan? It appears to have the same options as a Deep Scan but is nowhere else mentioned.
As is, the application could be more user-intuitive/friendly. For the documentation, including a glossary or a table chart highlighting the differences among these terms would greatly help users gain the most out of a fine product.
Please advise.
