Hello Terry. Apologies from AVG. You do not need to format your hard drive to reinstall your AVG to get this issue sorted out. I request you to uninstall your AVG with the remover tool once and reinstall it. That should definitely resolve the issue. Please use the remover tool accordingly. For 32 bit system : http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x86_2015_5501.exe and for 64 bit system : http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/support/avg_remover_stf_x64_2015_5501.exe . Please get in touch with us incase you need any further help. Thank you.
Usually when I download my emails to my outlook express… the 40 odd plus emails just …zip right in in under a few seconds to 20 seconds … But lately I have found that with the option of scanning the emails with avg… is the culprit … So I have to always go in and turn off AVG for 10 minutres to get this chore done … This is not the first time this has happened … It usually ( the problem described) happens after a few months of when AVG is installed … ( if I format harddrive and reinstall AVG the problem goes away for a few months … until it returns … It has now returned again and I am not in a position to format the harddrive at this time … So what can be done … If I turn off this feature I have a yellow excalimation point though the icon of avg next to or in my taskbar … I am using windows XP pro with SP3 and all updates in place …
