Scanning for malware

Click the gear icon next to Scan Computer on the main AVG Internet Security screen. Click the Deep scan tile to run a scan.

Asking this question again…AVG IS smartscan freezes at the malware stage. I've tried repairing, removing external drives, repairing again - no change. Any ideas?
