Perform repair of AVG Internet Security as mentioned in this article and check whether the issue persist with the scan.

I have had several attempts to scan local Disc (C:) but each time it only gets to 84% and doesn't go any further. How can I fix this?

I uninstalled Tuneup and reinstalled it and that seems to have fixed it. Thanks for your help.
