Hi Jacqueline,
We're glad to look into this & helpl you.
Please disable each AVG components individually as mentioned in this article to identify the component that is causing the issue & let us know to proceed further.
I did as instructed & I was only able to scan successfully when RANSOMWARE in the Computer Tile was disabled.
Suddenly I am unable to scan from my Brother multifunction printer. Brother told me to switch AVG off temporarily & try again, I did & scanning works as normal. How can I get this resolved please.

Hi Jacqueline,
Thank you for the information.
Please make sure that your AVG Internet Security program is configured with below recommended settings.
1) Open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Network profile. Change it to Private if it is set to Public.
2) Open the AVG Internet Security and click on Menu>Settings>Components>Firewall>Customize>Policies tab>System Rules. Select Enabled for Allow Windows File and Printer Sharing.
Thank you and please keep us informed.
I downloaded the support file & a session was established with Abdul at 10.58am. I didn't receive any response from him & I closed the session at 11.08am. I will try again later today.
The attempts we've made so far from your previous messaging has all been related to Firewall but as I have said it's the Ransomware protection that stops scanning. I've tried again this morning by enabling/disabling all components & Ransomware won't let scanning finish. Would have this have any bearing on my issue?
