Scanning stuck at 12%

Hello Laura.
When you Check hard disk for errors and select Thorough analysis, your computer restarts and the disk check runs during startup. In rare cases, the disk check stops mid-progress and may appear unresponsive. If this happens, we recommend following the steps below:

- Restart your PC.
- During reboot, you see a prompt to skip the disk check. This prompt appears for 1 second only, so we recommend pressing the SPACE key repeatedly during reboot to skip analysis.
- Download the CheckDisk mod http://files-download.avg.com/filedir/util/CheckDisk_mod.exe tool. This ensures that AVG PC TuneUp does not attempt to continue the disk check next time you start up your PC.
- Run the downloaded tool, then click Continue.
- The Work done dialog appears.
Disk check during startup is now disabled
