Hi Balasubramanian;
So, which of the two scans is the best one for me to use.
Jim
Hi Balasubramanian;
I've been using the Full Scan and it usually takes about 90 minutes to 120 minutes to complete. I've heard that the first scan can take quite a long time to complete, but that subsequent scans should be much faster. I'm not finding them any faster. What could be wrong?
Jim
Hi;
I have noticed there are several types of scan available in AVG Free 2017. What is the difference between the Full Computer Scan and the Deep Virus Scan. Which one should I be using?
Jim
Thank you for the information, Jim.
I request you to perform repair AVG Antivirus free once as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and check the timeframe for whole computer scan.
The scan timeframe usually depends on the number of files present on the hard drive and the processor speed.
Well, if you suspect that your PC might have got some virus infected or if you download any files from internet you can perform the deep virus scan once but this can be done at rare instances.
For regular scanning, whole computer scan is the recommended.
Hello Jim,
We appreciate your question regarding the type of scan involved in AVG Antivirus free 2017 version.
The whole computer scan will scan the entire hard drive and the scan settings, sensitivity will be normal whereas for Deep virus scan the sensitivity will be high, hence a thorough scanning will take place. Also this scan will scan for rootkits.
