We regret to hear about the inconvenience caused. AVG 2017 version Schedule scan will run in background, it will not notify in System tray AVG icon, however the Zen interface will show the scanning in progress. We do not have option to check the scan reports, however the reports/log of the scan results can be generated as a file and this feature will be added to the new version as soon as possible. Our developers are working on it and it will be added in our upcoming updates. Thank you.
A few weeks ago, AVG stopped running the scheduled scans. I had it set to run at 3 AM daily. I reinstalled it and that didn't help. Then I reinstalled it again, this time downloading the AVG uninstaller, and also AVG clear. These two failed to remove it completely, so I ran it through Revo uninstaller. This got rid of the remainder except the icon in the start menu, which I had to remove manually.
I set it up to run as before, 3 AM daily. It still does not run scheduled scans.
It appears you did not understand the question. The scans simply are not running automatically. In the morning, say 11 AM, I should get a message that the last scan was run 8 hrs. ago, sice I scheduled the scan for 3 AM… On a new install, it will say "never". If I do not run it manually for a week, it will say "7 days ago." I have to run it manually or it will not scan.
