Secondary network card *(to equipment) keeps getting reset to public / private at restart. win10

I have AVG internet security,

i have 2x network cards in a system,

the primary network card is connected to my internal network, ( DHCP / Gateway etc)

the secondary connected to a CNC router mill with a static address.

at restart,  it changed the secondary network card profile from "Private" to "Public"

and i have to instruct a worker to reset this every morning at startup, other wise there is no connection to the CNC machine.

I've checked the windows setting for this, and the setting retains after boot, for both cards, but avg treats the secondary connection differently.

I've tried an AVG repair, ive reinstalled, updated everything

and subsequently if i disable firewall it works,   but it is directly related to the network profile,

is there a registry edit for this?

can i disable the feature with out disabling the firewall?

is there a way to lock these settings , or disable what changes it on boot?

dealing with this for a year now, and finally bugging me

Win 10, latest updates,

AVG internet security, - paid

thank you

Hi Vince,

We're glad to look into this & help you.
From your description, we see that the profile changes automatically at startup.
You can try to disable 'Enable automatic profile switching' in AVG Firewall.
To disable this option, you need to enter the geek settings area of AVG program.
Before proceeding, please clarify whether you're instructing the worker to change the network profile to private manually.
