Secure VPN will not activate

I understand the inconvenience.
Please follow below mentioned steps to turn on AVG Secure VPN:
1) Open RUN command by pressing Windows and R keys together on your keyboard.
2) On RUN window, type as "services.msc" without quotes and press Enter.
3) On services window, search for AVG Secure VPN service, right click on it and select "Start" or "Restart"

Open AVG Secure VPN program window and try turning on the protection.
Keep us informed about the status.

Having taken up the trial subscription offer, the software has downloaded and installed, but on opening the application it is turned off. Attempting to turn on says loading, after a couple of minutes it stops loading but remains turned off. Am I missing something or does it just not work?
