Seems stuck at 30% while doing a deep scan

Deep scan is a predefined, in-depth scan of your system that checks your storage drives and memory for malware (including rootkits).
Usually it takes some time. If it is stuck at 30% without any progress, then few services might be unable to initiate.
In order to ensure that all the services are running fine, we can try repairing AVG program once & check if it helps.

Yesterday I ran a deep virus scan (1TB hard drive) and it stayed at 30% for a really long time. When it was done it said that it had dealt with various rootkits. I'm running it again today, but it's still staying at 30%, and for even longer than yesterday.

What gives?
