Today my AVG auto updated to the hedious 17. sonething update.
PC CPU usage jumped to 92% constantly. Noted that two versions of AVG were now in Programs.
Tried to uninstall the older version (as suggested in another tread)it just reinstalled the newer one on top.
After hours of repair, uninstalling etc, finally got CPU to normal however Programs still show two versions but now I cannot right click any file on my PC as it now causes explorer.exe to crash.
AVG is a joke, becoming bloated and now has malware which crashes your PC !!.
And of course after I just paid for another years subscription !i
Hello Simon,
I'm sorry to hear about this. Yes, if you have two AVG protection programs running at the same time, then it will increase the CPU usage. In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version. I have sent you an email, please follow the email instruction to reinstall your AVG Internet Security. Feel free to contact us again if you need any further assistance.
Best regards,
Alok.
