This is a new issue, never experienced this problem before. I have not made a restore point (which I know I should have done, but too late now). How do I boot in Safe mode (it's a HP computer) when I can't start Windows 8?

Have you tried booting your PC into Safe Mode?
My PC won't start up. Before Windows 8 starts booting there's a black screen and the message: Server initialization failedwith an error 0xe001003e. My problem is that I can't get passed that to fix it by going through some steps described in another post in this forum regarding this problem. The message disappears and the computer screen remains black. What to do?
