I am sorry to hear that. If you have selected the option "Shut down after the scan completes" it should shut down the PC. Please repair AVG Internet security http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG from the control panel and then run a scan to check the status.

AVG used to be able to shutdown the computer after a scan if the button was pressed. I no longer see the button to enable me to scan the computer and shutdown automatically after the scan. Can anyone help me discover how to do this as I would like to scan then not have to come back to the computer to close the scan.
