Hi K,
I followed all instructions to the letter and now my email doesn't work at all!
Please Note:
Note: I have VERY LITTLE knowledge of email servers and network configuration!
I selected POP3 and clicked Added and named a new server
I edit the settings as follows:
Fixed host; mail.optonline.net for POP3 - and port 110 (which is in my outlook settings)
Local port: 5300
THIS IS WHERE I AM CONFUSED: HOW DO I KNOW WHICH TO SELECT?
Connection: "Secure to regular port" or "Secure to dedicated port" based on your network configuration
I tried "regular port", clicked apply and got "An error occurred when saving the configuration: Data aren't valid."
Then I tried "dedicated port" and got the same error message. What now?
Hello Gail,

Please click on this link to set up email scan settings and see if that fix the issue http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-set-up-AVG-E-mail-Protection-to-scan-encrypted-e-mails

I keep getting the pop up:"Email Scanner is unable to scan messages because content of connection is unknown."
I use Optimum pop email (optonline.net) with my outlook 2007 client. Has anyone made this configuration work?
