The latest version of AVG Internet Security 22.12 can't be installed on computers with the Win7x86 without the KB4474419 update.
If you required, you can follow the steps in this article to download the required update & then proceed with the installation process.
I have no problems on my current win7pro laptop. My just purchase laptop won't install AVG without MS update KB4474419, SHA-2 code signingSHA-2 code signing. I don't use windows update. I think if anybody trusts MS for security is making a mistake. I use a number of softwares for computer security and a few common sense things too. In 30 years of building and piecing computers and laptops together, my computers have never been hacked or infected with anything. Why is AVG making us update windows? I've seen some of the posts about older versions of AVG, but they won't install.

Hence you need to update the windows to install AVG.

Let me be clear. This is my own fresh win7sp1 os. There are NO updates other than netframework 4.52. and most hp drivers for my 8440p. No software, nothing else.
All you would've had to do, is have older versions available.
