Shareware giveway version not updated to latest

Thank you for the update.
You have mentioned that you snagged a 1 year extended trial of AVG Internet Security and hence we asked you to use that license to continue using the subscription.
You can enter the license by clicking on Menu on AVG Internet Security dashboard and selecting "About–>Subscription" from it.
If you don't have the license number then the basic trial version which is valid for 30 days will be available.
It is necessary to delete "AVG Clear" from boot option.
Please press Windows and R key together on your keyboard to open RUN command window.
On RUN please type as "MSCONFIG" without quotes and press enter.
You will get a window opened, click on "BOOT" from it.
You should find AVG clear in it, right click on it and select remove or delete.
Finally click Ok. When you restart your PC you shouldn't get the option to choose windows 10 or AVG clear.

hello  ah, so it isn't updating properly then. it was a 1 year trial from sharewareforsale. i had thought about reinstalling it, but was worried about invalidating my license key by doing so (as i said, it is a version that doesn't have the randsomware components which i believe you don't normally offer). the download came from the sharewareforsale site directly. i can see the sinario where i update it, lose the "paid" version, and avg doesn't know i exist, lol, because it came from this site's giveaways. how should i proceed?

 i've cleared the avg clear from boot. but am still curious about where to find time left on subscription or license (to make sure transferance occured properly). i did input my 1 year extended trial license and it excepted it with a green checkmark during installation. so should i just presume it is all good, or is there a place to check remaining time left in subscription? the old version i had indicated time remaining on license (as seen in picture i previously sent). now it looks like this: User-added image

alok kumar. i entered the license number and it now indicates a 1 month trial instead of the 1 year. can you resend (email) me again what it was you had previously emailed me (?), the email i had at avg (which you sent too) was a discontinued one. i updated it so it works now.  bigbluewaterbear@protonmail.com
thanks.

okay. avg has seen better days. been waiting over 24 days for support to deal with my problem via email. i had communication via email with avg and my case was forewarded to an investigation team that apparently couldn't be bothered to look into it. i understand it was a free 1 year trial, so i didn't pay. yet, the purpose of the trial is to win me over to renew. it's a marketing stratagy to win return customers. i've uninstalled avg and gone with norton. i can't afford to have my system unprotected this long.

i snagged a 1 year extended trial of AVG Internet Security. i believe this version does not have the newer anti-ransomware components, but it has the firewall, and antivirus (+ web, software, + email). my question is i am unsure if it is updating properly because of this odd nuance. it is running version 16.161.8035. but the latest is 17.7.3032.
when i go to manually update avg, it will download update files adn say update complete. but if i check again, it will do that again. etc, for as many times as i do it.
so i presume this is because it can't update the anti-ransomware which i don't have (?). but then why is my version not up-to-date? i mean, as much as i like having won the extended trial for a year, if it is running an old engine, it seems the free version would offer better protection for me?

okay. i did as instructed by balasubramaniam. the new avg is installed and it is updated. however, i am unsure where to find how long is remaining on my trial, to see if i have lost any of it. under AVG's "about" and then "subscription", it just says i am using a "trial", but doesn't indicate if my license is still good intill aug 7 2018 (as it was before). i wonder incase a standard 1 month trial is now suddenly activated (?).

further question. that AVG clear program i was told to run has added a duel operating system boot to my system. when i turn on my computer now, it asks me to select which operating system to boot, the "windows 10" one, or the "clear install" one. this thing looks like it installed a linux distro or something (specifically tailored to AVG) ?? how do i get rid of it now? is there an unistaller or clean up tool for it?

I understand your concern. Please provide me the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the AVG program installed in your computer. We will check the same and assist you further.

Bee, I see that you have installed correct version of AVG Internet Security. However, if you have the license number which you have purchased from sharewareforsale, then please click on the button "enter license number" to activate your AVG Internet Security for one year. I have also send you an email, please reply to that email with the requested information to assist you further.
Best regards,
Alok.
