If an untrusted application, malware, or user who is not logged in to your Windows account tries to access your protected files, Sensitive Data Shield blocks access or prompts you to confirm if the access attempt should be blocked.
You can share the file with others they can access it without any issues.

If a file is protected by AVG while on my computer and I email it to someone, will they be able to access/use/read it?
