Hello Stephen,
I'm sorry to hear about this. In this case, I request you to repair AVG Internet Security/AVG Free Antivirus once. After that open the AVG user interface on your desktop, and click the gear icon next to Scan Computer > Select Schedule Scan > Scheduling > Unable the Scheduling > and check the box "Shut down the system after the scan finishes". After that, you can check if your computer is shutting down after the AVG schedule scan.
Best regards,
Alok.
Since the December update my computer no longer shuts down after it's Scheduled Scan.
My PC is running Vista and I have installed all updates, including the latest 18.1.3044 version.
I have also tried deleting and setting up a new Scheduled Scan. The scan starts but the pc does not shut down afterwards. I have noted a message pop up on a few occasions stating the the pc is going to shut down but nothing happens. The pc is not in use when the scan runs.
It appears the problem has been resolved in the latest update.
Thank you.
