I understand the inconvenience. It seems that you have optimized the visual effects with AVG PC TuneUp. Please refer this article http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-revert-changes-done-by-PC-TuneUp to revert back the changes made by AVG PC TuneUp, restart the PC and check the status.
