Since renewal of AVG Internet Security I have lost the ability to communicate with the internet. It is not a connection problem. Conection is fine and signal excellent, but it times out even with several "Retry" selections. AVG is blocking connection

Thank you to all who have offered suggestions.  I have a question for Alan - I disabled my AVG firewall and can now access the internetbut, I always thought that the AVG firewall would be superior to my Windows firewall and was one of the reasons I purcased the yearly subscription over the free version.  Is there anyway I can reconfigure the AVG Firewall so theat I can reactivate it?  Thanks!

Deedrie, I personally don't use AVG Firewall… i.e. No AVG Internet Security. Don't know if this article (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Firewall-is-inactive-not-working-or-in-error-state) will help you?. Otherwise, Re AVG Community Support expert assistance from Brno, Czech Rep… They will attend to your posting @ their earliest convenience but please bear this in mind i.e. Workdays [Mon-Fri] 9:00am - 5:00pm CET.

Hi all,
In case you would like to use ZoneAlarm Firewall please make sure to install just Firewall component(untick all others during installation) to prevent issues.

Yeah, I'm running AVG FREE with Windows Firewall, so no problems here either. Is Windows Firewall deficient in some way? If it is, please let me know and I'll try ZoneAlarm.
