If your PC is in sleep mode or shut down, then AVG scheduled scan will not initiate.
Scheduled scan will run only when your computer is awake.
If the scheduled scan is missed, then it will run only in the next scheduled time.

when running Windows Vista and XP the AVG scheduled scan worked when PC asleep after waking it without a problem then along came Windows 10 And the failure of AVG to wake the PC, Surely waking the PC could be done without too much trouble.

In that case AVG ONLY does a partialialy scheduled scan as I consider a scheduled scan to be done if the PC is asleep or not like previously. Now when I turn it on the bloody PC starts a scan and slows everything down when it should have been done when I'm not using the PC. I think it's time to start looking for a more user freindly internet security product.
Allan, this feature was available in the previous version. However, it is not currently available.
