SlimCleaner was downloaded to my PC without my knowledge

I noticed that SlimCleaner was installed on my laptop, so tried to delete it.  I ran AVG before rebooting to avoid a problem.  On rebooting, the uninstall process was repeated, and then ran an installer on the 2nd startup.  I am a little concerned that AVG did not detect this as SlimCleaner is listed under Rogue Security Software on Wikipedia.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rogue_security_software

Is it possible that this has been missed by AVG?  What should I do about this please?
