Hello Lawless,
We realize the situation. Let us perform few steps and confirm whether AVG program is the reason behind this.
Open AVG TuneUp program interface. Click on "Speed Up–>Background & startup programs" from it.
In the list, try to wake up the programs that was already put to sleep.
Once done, try to access the applications in your PC and see whether there is any difference.
Open AVG Internet Security program interface.
Click on "Menu–>Settings–>General–>Troubleshooting".
Click on the check box that says "Enable passive mode" and click on close.
This will disable AVG protection temporarily and then try accessing the applications then.
Keep us informed about the status.
For the last 2-3 weeks my desktop has been very slow to open everything eg Outlook … about 4-5 minutes … I have AVG and AVG Tuneup installed and checked regularly … any ideas?
