You may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because a VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
You could try connecting to a different VPN server by clicking 'Change location' on the AVG Secure VPN user interface.
I noticed a significant drop in speed (for 60 t 10 on down load, and from 50 to 5 on upload using the VPN. Switching off the VPN made the connection less secure, but much faster. Now I have the problem that switching off the VPN in AVG slows down the connection. How can I stop AVG running on a Mac, without completely removing the application?
