Hello Dan,
I understand the inconvenience. A slow Microsoft Windows boot up can be caused by a number of different issues like multiple Antivirus software installed on your PC, Disk defragmentation, Insufficient hard drive space, Outdated drivers or Windows. Programs that are loaded as the computer starts up remain active in memory. Consequently, they are one of the main causes of a slow boot into Windows. Disabling programs you don't often use from automatically loading up each time the computer powers on can decrease boot time. Similar disk utilities can help verify your hard drive is running free of errors while organizing stored data in the most efficient manner possible. If you think that AVG is causing this issue, then please uninstall it from the control panel and restart your computer to check the status.
I have Internet Security vesrion 17.8.3036 running under Win 10 which is up to date, on both my desktop and laptop. This topic seems to have been around forever, but the various streams seem to GO ON forever. Is there not a simple answer to this problem?
