We're not currently aware of any issues surrounding the SBS Console and AVG clients, however there are plenty of reports online with users experiencing the same issues (with various AV vendors). If the local security center shows everything is OK then it seems to be some client -> server communication issue.
Is the server fully up-to-date with Windows updates?
We have a utility to enable clients to re-register in WMI again which you can try:
http://download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Delrep_en.exe
If the updates are all in place and the utility doesn't help then we can gather some information to pass to our developers for analysis.

no rush I know they are secure just a pain not being able to show that
The SBS console is reporting all of my workstations as critical. I have tried a basic WMI request from the server to the clients and it works. I am able to pull the case serial numbers etc.
Firewall seems to be open for WMI.
I also have verified that the security center on each client shows AVG as active and secure.
Still ALL of the clients running AVG Business are showing as Critical.
