Smb Bruteforce?

Hi. Am getting repeated messages, all of a sudden telling me AVG is blocking an incoming BruteForce connection from another desktop IP address on my network.I have no idea why this should be happening all of a sudden. Both are protected by AVG. Any explanation please?

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, Colin.

Initially, could you let us know if you received any remote assistance recently?
Also, do you recognize/trust the ip address that's being detected by AVG?
Awaiting your response.

As stated at the outset, the IP address from whence the BruteForce is said to originate is another desktop on my LAN. I have had no remote assistance prior to the messages starting to appear every few minutes. It may have begun after an automatic update of the AVG software but it is done in the background and not monitored by me. Depending on how this goes, that may have to change, to restore confidence in the product.
