Hi, I have been using AVG Free for some time and recently purchased, under a free trial period, AVG antivirus and AVG tune-up. Both my operating system and software are VERY old (but are enough for the time being to suit my needs). I have discovered that a few days after installing the products (I'm presuming after all the updates and internal sorting was done), some of the programs (Publisher, Word, Adobe etc) wouldn't open. While the Microsoft programs are old and no longer being updated, Adobe is kept up to date. The only way I could get them to open/function eventually was to return to a system restore point which was prior to installation of the AVG products. Which means of course, that all the good stuff the AVG products did was reversed. I'm so disappointed! I seems I can't continue to run the programs in my poor old computer and the AVG products. Everything still operates just fine using AVG Free which I know has only limited functions attached to it. Is there any way around this? If not, I will have to cancel the subscription re-purchase once I score a new computer. Looking forward to any help anyone has to offer.

Hello Vee,
We're sorry for the inconvenience caused.
We see that you have AVG Internet Security and AVG TuneUp trial subscriptions.
The issue might happen if the mentioned programs were put to sleep mode in AVG TuneUp.
To wake the programs, please refer to this article and awake those programs.
Please update the status.
Happy to help, Vee.
Feel free to contact us for any further assistance with AVG.

Thanks for your response. The link to the article doesn't work. Could perhaps email it to me instead? Cheers!
No problem, Vee.
To make this easier, please follow the below steps to check whether the programs are under sleep mode.
1, Click the Speed up tile on the AVG TuneUp dashboard.
2, Click Background & startup programs.
3, Click programs sleeping at the bottom of the Background & startup programs screen.
4, Click on wake: It'll immediately wake the application and allows it to start running in the background.
5, Restart your PC.
