I have on the laptop the antivirus "McAfee Internet Security Suite". If I disable it by turning off "Real-Time Scanning" and the "Firewall", and then restart the laptop with the antivirus disabled, I am able to run successfully "Clean up Windows and Programs".
It would appear that some update of the antivirus or of the Windows Vista (or both) are conflicting with TuneUp Utilities.
Any suggestion on how to solve tis issue?
Thanks.
Julio

I have TuneUp on Dell desktop and on Acer laptop. With Dell desktop, running Windows 7, TuneUp works fine. On the Acer laptop, running Windows Vista, one program has stop scanning lately: “Clean up Windows and Programs”.
If I deselect such program on the “Optimize” section (by deselecting it on the 1-Click Maintenance), then the “Scanning” on the Dashboard will run its course successfully. If I do not deselect such program, then the scan will remain “scanning” on that program indefinitely.
All other sections work fine, including updates.
Any idea why?
Thannks.

Hello Julio,
We apologize for the delay in responding. From the explanation given by you we could understand that McAfee is blocking the functions of 'Tune Up Utilities'. We suggest you to report this to McAfee to get further assistance. Thank you.
Thank you for the help and support.
I have followed your instructions, removed the TuneUp Utilities and reinstalled back again; but the problem persists, meaning: if I deselect "Clean up Windows and Programs", the scan will run its course.
If I try to only scan that section, the scanning will remain "scaning" and will never end.
All other functions are OK.
