frequently when I open up & check my AVG resource, the first frame 'basic protection' in highlighted in red = 'computer not protected - some shields are turned off' - these are 'behavior shield' and 'ransomeware protection'. They have to be switched on manually.
I went onto help and my computer was checked remotely and I was assured all had been dealt with and all was well. However, the next day the open up message was the same (although today all was fine!).
I am concerned that there is malware of some sort hiding from AVG.
I have cause to fear this as when I attempted to access a government local council site I could not proceed as it stated that someone else was currently at that site. There was a warning that the site was not secure and indeed, when I proceeded. I was redirected a site 'Wellnesszap.com' - I blocked this!
Also 'my' browsing history for the government.org site included cities I had never accessed EVER - Cambridge & Bridgend.
A day later I tried again … but with no success & I had to do my business by telephone.
Having had the computer inspected by AVG remotely, I am at a loss as to what to do. I rely on internet banking etc but am anxious now that my computer has a gremlin in it.
