Hi Dave,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused, We would like to inform that the case has been moved to our developers. We request you to wait for some time, so that our developers can fix the issue. Also, you can try adding the folder to exceptions http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-make-exclusions-from-all-scans-and-shields and check the issue once.
Thank you!

Somebody out there has either;
a) figured out an easy restore quarantined files procedure (or created an app),
or
b) have figured out a way to actually have AVG ask if you are okay with running a file it sees as a threat (more often incorrectly than not) and allowing you to add an exception without having it removed, adding an exception, then restoring the file manually (because the restore option no longer works - good testing AVG!!).
Personal Note:
I write code, I create apps that communicate with Ethernet based devices, I am sick to the teeth with having my apps removed because AVG thinks I don't know how to create a set of code that I need to access a device that has some very low level functions that I need to control on the devices.
