"Sorry, we've crashed" {AVG Antivirus / Paid version of AVG Internet Security}

I started getting this message yesterday. I tried repairing, deleting, reloading, but I end up with the same message.

All other AVG products are fine. I am using it on an older-ish HP laptop running Windows 10.

Any suggestions?

I have tried doing the uninstall and reinstall multiple times.  After reinstall, one of two things happen: (1) The software does not show up on the computer; (2) The software shows on the computer, but I still get a "crashed" message when I try to open it.

This  NEVER happened before on this laptop {or any other computer I have had}. As best as I can remember, I did not change any settings that might have caused this. I do not use the laptop that often, usually no more than once or twice a week.
