I’m curious to hear what other AVG users think about this, because I’m honestly getting increasingly frustrated with AVG.
I have AVG Ultimate, which is supposed to be the complete package. Yet every time I open AVG, I seem to be bombarded with warnings telling me that I’m still not properly protected.
There’s always something else I supposedly need. I need AntiTrack, then there are warnings about data breaches, privacy risks, or some other additional protection. It constantly feels like: “Yes, you have Ultimate, but you’re still at risk — so here’s something else you should buy or install.”
At some point, I have to ask: what exactly is “Ultimate” about the Ultimate package?
If I’m paying for AVG’s top package, I would much rather have one genuinely complete security package that includes everything I reasonably need, without constantly being pushed towards additional products, subscriptions, or browser extensions.
What really triggered my frustration today is an AVG AntiTrack screen sitting in the background that I can’t even seem to close. It wants me to add something to Chrome, and there doesn’t appear to be a normal option to simply dismiss it. That feels less like a security notification and more like aggressive upselling.
I don’t mind AVG informing me about a genuine security issue. That’s what security software is supposed to do. But there is a big difference between useful security warnings and constantly making paying customers feel unsafe in order to sell them additional products.
Am I the only one getting frustrated by this? How do other AVG Ultimate users feel about the constant warnings, pop-ups and additional products? Do you also feel that “Ultimate” should simply include the complete protection package without all this upselling?
