Starting browser under VPN

Hello Richard,

I understand your concern on this AVG Secure VPN. Please be informed that once you turn on AVG Secure VPN, you can open the browser from the icon in your desktop and not necessarily from the VPN interface. When you restart your computer, by default AVG Secure VPN will be turned off. You need to manually turn on VPN and then connect to browser.

I just installed VPN.  Do I always need to start my browser from the VPN screen, or will I automatically use VPN no matter how I start my browser?  Or in other words, once VPN is connected, are all internet accesses automatically funneled through it?

This morning I started my laptop and am using a hotel connection, which sometimes requires me to enter name and room number.  VPN didn't connect, so I opened my browser and connected, then went to AVG and got to the VPN page and turned it on.  It connected okay then.  Was that browser session automatically moved over to use the VPN, or was it still connected directly to the hotel network?
