Starting watchdog initialization

I have the same problem.  I was unable to get the AVG Boot Screen to display from either the prepared CD or USB.  I followed the instructions at: https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en_US&urlName=Disabling-AVG-when-Windows-cannot-start
I then entered Safe Mode and made the rename changes that I was instructed to do in the above link.  I tried rebooting but there was no change.  I still get the "starting watchdog initialization" sequence on a black screen that is described in the initial post.  please help

ALL,
November 3, 2016, 10:20pm - I have read all the posts and replies on several sites.  I could not get my ASUS laptop to boot in safe mode no matter what I tried.  Noticed the post about Logitech USB wireless mouse receiver possibly being the problem.  I have a Logitech Mouse, model M325, with a wireless USB receiver. After reading about a possible problem with Logitech USB receivers I powered off the laptop, removed the receiver, and powered up the laptop.  It booted normally with out showing the watchdog initialization screen. Strange but true!  I have had nothing but good luck with AVG FREE until this problem developed.  Not sure if the Watchdog virus is gone but am removing AVG and looking for a replacement.  Plus will look into a newer Logitech software version for the receiver.  Good Luck!  Tom (using my wife's computer to post this message.)

Hi,
My brother faced this problem too on his laptop yesterday.
For him the problem had something to do with his Logitech usb receiver because when we removed it from the computer the AVG watchdog sceen dissapeared and we could log in to windows again.

Chris,
We apologize for the delay in responding to you, we suggest you try other Linux Live CD and if you face any issues booting from CD/USB or getting into BIOS then we recommend you to get connected with the motherboard/PC manufacturer so that they will help you to boot your device/ BIOS menu. Thank you for your better understanding!

I have also downloaded the CD version onto a CD.  The CD is in my computer and I have rebooted, multiple times.  None of the following is happening, per the instructions in the link you send me.

I have hit F2, to go to my set up, change the boot to CD and still nothing happens.   It continues to initialize the Watchdog and my computer is completely frozen.  I cannot access anything on my PC.

Starting the AVG Rescue CD
When you have the CD or USB disk, insert it into the computer on which you want to run the AVG Rescue CD. If the computer is not set to first check and start from CD or USB device, set it in the BIOS of the computer. After that, restart the computer. The AVG Rescue CD boot screen will be displayed:

Press F1 if you want to set boot options, otherwise wait 10 seconds or press the Enter key.
The system will boot up. It will automatically mount (connect) the hard drives of the computer and also set the network connection.
When asked, we recommend to confirm the start of automatic update.
Once the system is loaded, you will be presented with a simple user interface. From this interface basic features can be accessed.

Hello Thomas,
We apologize for the inconvenienice.

I have Toshiba Satellite laptop, operating system Windows 10. I restarted my PC after a pop-up appeared from AVG saying that a restart was necessary. Upon restarting it, I was brought to a black screen displaying the following lines of text:

No key works, no action happens. I can’t start up the laptop. I have read that I should use AVG rescue bootable USB. I did what has been told in introductive video, but it does not work as well.

What is the reason of the above mentioned problem?
Is it possible to solve this problem without formatting and losing files?
Who can help me to solve this problem?

I have the same Watch Dog Initalization come up on me. I just read your post and shut down the lap-top and pulled the Logitech module for the M 505 mouse. Started the lap top and its back up and running fine now. How do i correct the Logitech Mouse problem?

Hello everyone,
I recently had this same issue-where my screen would load to the Watchdog initialization and nothing else after.
To get to Safemode in WIndows 10- I had to remove the batthery and use power cord:
I would start computer and unplug the power cord when Dell Icon would show upon start up.
I did this 7- 10 times, then leave power in and your computer should go to 'Recovery Mode' in which you should have options to restart in safemode.
From another computer I downloaded AVG uninstaller to a USB- Install AVG on your PC, Mac | AVG installation files
Then I plugged USB in and dragged AVG uninstaller tool to my C drive and opened it, and successfully uninstalled AVG, when then allowed me to boot my computer normally.
I hope this helps!

I'm able to download the USB. Unzip. When I run the setup.exe, it will not allow me to select my USB drive & install.  What else should I be doing?

Typical "support" give you the same inconsequential answer you responded to already…
