I have had free AVG for some time and have been generally happy with it. I paid to upgrade to performance pro and I have had issues with my computer starting up (I cannot use my computer now)… I called tech support at AVG and they could not help me fix anything and recommended for me to spend more $ to take my computer to a local tech person. I believe the problem started when it recommended to 'fix' my registry. When I boot up my computer I can't even put it into safe mode… I am asked to input what kind of keyboard I have like it doesn't recognize my keyboard anymore.
Going to try to get a hard wired keyboard & mouse to see if this makes any difference. I am disappointed in the lack of tech support AVG offered me.
Any more ideas out there?
Thanks.

Please feel free to get back to us for any issues with AVG. Thank you.
After playing around with things for awhile and saying a prayer to God, I got it to work! Last thing I did was disabled UBS ports to aid in the boot process. Going to back it all up pronto! God no doubt guided me to fix because I don't have much computer knowledge, but I do have some.

What I have learned:
Lesson 1- Always back up your computer frequently and or create a restore image of your system before using any software that attempts to optimize your system.
Lesson 2- Sometimes the grass is not greener with a premium subscription unfortunately although my hopes were high.
Regretably if I had to rate AVG support & premium software right now, it would be thumbs down.
Hope someone can help that won't charge an arm and a leg.
