Startup scan not working properly

Hi T,

Thanks

Hi,

Here is a problem I am having with AVG 2015 anti-virus, and would  like to know how to solve it.

The startup scan I create (to scan for rootkits) does not actually load during startup and there is a delay of about ten minutes after login before the scan begins.

What is bothersome about this problem is related to the reasons for creating the scheduled scan.  Rootkits can only be normally be detected before they become active with the operating system bootup and login…this is the typical reasons for either scannign for them when the os is offline, during a safe mode session, or a live cd, or a combination of all of the above.

In the AVG 2015 product is the ability to create a custom scan schdedule that allows for all of the virus scanning to take place at startup.

However, it appears this feature is either broken or there is some other resource dependency that hangs it from starting effectively.

I have tested this on all three of my machines of which I have installed a copy license of AVG 2015 that I own, and I get the same results on each.

I would like to report this problem to your tech programmers and also need to know how to overcome this issue so that the scan actually happens at startup…not ten minutes after the fact.

second issue, also related to the first, is that I would like to be able to include with a startup scan schedule, the ability for the AVG product to run an update for virus definitions…if that is possible.  I do not see the feature available, but perhaps it is buried somewhere deep in the advanced settings…

thanks

Tim
