Steam content file locked by AVG

I went to play a game on Steam that I have already played for over an hour and on several different occasions but this time AVG thought it was a virus and put it in the quarantine section. I went to quarantine and selected the file by tick box and selected restore. Nothing happened and it is still listed. I tried to start the game again but got content locked error message. I presume from AVG. I went back to quarantine and deleted the virus, uninstalled the game and re-installed it but I am continually getting content locked error messages.
