Occasionally, when I launch a game on Steam, AVG will pop up and tell me that the file is suspicious and that it’s scanning it.
Buuut… It actually opens the game in the background while this happens! This happens every single time that a steam app gets flagged as suspicious!
And then it’ll say that everything is fine and forcibly close and restart the game. Which I can live with.
Or decide that there’s an anonymous trojan and close the game and quarantine the file. Which I am VERY concerned about.
It’s letting the damned thing open while it’s scanning it! How boned is my system? Is there a way to prevent it? If any of the trojans are NOT false positives, did it let them infect my system while the game was allowed to open?
Windows 11 x64, AVG 25.9.10453a but this has been happening forever on multiple computers.
