We regret for the inconvenience caused. We believe that you have tried the 'trial' version of AVG and so once the 'trial' period is over you may get pop-ups to make sure that your PC/laptop's advanced protection is continued. To uninstall 'trial' and continue using 'free' version, follow these steps. Please remove conflicting antivirus products if any (http://avgread.me/1K1IqEh) and then remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually delete any remaining AVG files and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then install your 'AVG Antivirus Free' by clicking on http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe .
I don't want to limit the pop-ups, I want them REMOVED! And I don't want to upgrade to Pro just to remove these pop-ups. I've been using AVG almost from when it was first released and I've always used the FREE version. However, because of constant nagging by your company I tried the Pro version and decided that I didn't need or want it. That's when these pop-ups started, telling me that my trial period had expired and exhorting me to upgrade! THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN!!! If I can't resolve this blatant blackmail to my satisfaction I will use my Revo Uninstaller Pro (paid version) to remove every trace of AVG from my system. And if this doesn't work I will simply reformat my SSD and reinstall my Win7 64 bit OS. So get your act together or you will have another very irate ex-customer.
