Thank you, Bruce.
I have activated the automatic scan on purpose to scan USB sticks, mobile phones etc. if attached to the computer. But the automatic scan is not helpful with a 400GB external hard disk. If it were possible to stop the automatic scan with a command line command I could stop it automatically.
The nicest option would be a more specific option in AVG settings (e.g. exclude HDDs from automatic scan).
Hi,
is there a way to stop an automatic scan of a removable medium from command line (batch script)?
Thank you.
Hi Bernd, not from command line that I know of. You could open AVG UI and click Reports, which should enable you to click Stop. Or you could just disable automatic scans (see screenshot).
If you were scanning the device from command line by specifying its path, then you should be able to stop the scan with Ctrl+C.
