Stop Web Shield popups

Joseph,
Thank you for waiting, is this issue still occuring?
If so, please remove unused or suspicious browser plugins. If you think that the detected URL is legit and virus free then we recommend you to report it as false positive under the following link: http://www.avg.com/submit-sample .

Joseph,
I have escalated your case to our senior team. We will contact you once we receive a reply.
Regards,
Alok.

Here's a screenshot (https://snag.gy/BN6wvQ.jpg) of an example popup I continue to see all the time. This happened when I was simply going to a Google Images search page.

Hello Joseph,

It is not recommended to turn of threat detection popups.
Let us check why the threat detection is appearing during website access.
Share the screenshot of AVG threat window and mention the name of the website that you are trying to access.
You can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Is there a way to stop AVG "Virus Threat Blocked" popups from happening when I visit sites? On the PC version, you can turn off these virus pop-up notifications, but I can't see this option anywhere on the latest Mac version 18.2.

The issue is still occurring in Dec 2020, and there are other threads like this around here. Why does AVG not provide a fix?

still happening in 08/2021 !

Thank you for understanding.
If the issue persists, do provide the URL for analysis as instructed before.

Thank you for providing the screenshot Joseph,
May I know the version of the mac operating system installed on your computer?
Regards,
Alok.

Thank you for the information.

Please let me know if you have this issue in a particular browser or in all the browsers installed on your computer.

I notice it primarily in Safari. However, I haven't fully checked other browsers. I notice it happens intermittently, even if I'm opening up a new browser window, but simply have Safari open. It doesn't happen consistently on any page either.

I'm using MacOs High Sierra 10.13.4

Yes, this issue is still occuring. I can take a look at my browser plugins to see if any could be the culprit. The URLs I'm visiting are 100% legit as far as I know.
