Hello Catherine,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
As per our record, you had the subscription for AVG Ultimate Multidevice (1 year subscription) and it expired on 17th August 2016.
So, this should be the reason for you to get the expiry popup. We request you to provide the screenshot of the popup that you received from AVG so that we can assist you better.
If you don't wish to continue using the paid version and like to use the free version then please uninstall the expired AVG Performance from the control panel by following the instructions mentioned in this link: http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-uninstall-AVG .
NOTE: Please uninstall only AVG Performance.
I have a desktop and laptop that are utilizing AVG Antivirus. My paid subscription expired and now have free version on both. The laptop software application is working properly. Unfortunately, my desktop has a pop up notification message indicating subscription has expired. I am not able to access button to run scan of computer as this notification appears. I have attempted to research how to change frequency of notification but am not able to access that area to manage any change that I would need to make. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
You can downgrade the expired AVG Protection program to paid version by following the instructions mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1073t3Z .
If this downgrade didn't help then please go ahead in completely removing the traces of A VG program using the AVG remover tool as mentioned in the uninstall AVG program link provided above.
Please let us know the status of this.
