Subscription renewal

Hello Derek,

You have been charged for renewal of AVG Internet Security and earlier you had AVG PC TuneUp. Both are different products where Internet Security will protect your device from viruses and hackers & PC tuneup will increase your system performance.

I have today been charged for the renewal of my AVG Internet Security subscription.  The amount of R449.00 was taken from my bank account without my authority.  My AVG Account shows that the current subscription expires on October 28, 2019.  Please explain and/or refund my money without delay.

Derek, we’d like to apologize for the misunderstanding and explain our subscription system.

AVG products are sold as subscriptions and remain valid until you cancel them. We try to be clear about this both before and after your purchase, and we explain how to cancel subscriptions in various places, including:

  • In our shopping cart before purchase
  • In the confirmation email we send after purchase
  • In notification emails we send before charging for subsequent subscription periods

We understand that people may overlook these things, and emails might end up in spam folders. So we sincerely apologize if you didn’t know that you’d subscribed and that we’d be charging you again to extend your subscription.

In this particular occasion, we've sent an email notification 30 days prior (on 13th Sep 2018) to your registered email address. We also sent an order confirmation email on 13th Oct 2018 which contains the invoice and new license number. 

All these notification and confirmation emails contains details of the product and the amount in them. To keep them private, we've sent your product details as requested in an email. Please check your inbox and spam box as well.
