Subscription Vs. Expiry Date

I've got already two emails this month, one on 13 December and the other 2 days ago, saying:
'Your AVG Internet Security subscription will expire on 27 January 2021, because we're unable to process your payment.
This may be because your payment card ending in ************XXXX has been blocked, has expired or will expire before your renewal date on 12 January 2021.
(here there is a link to "Renew Now"
What should I do?
To keep from losing your subscription, please manually renew it here:
(here there is a link to "Renew Now")
Alternatively, you can contact our Customer Care team, and they'll help you out. Don't worry about renewing before expiration, either. Your new subscription will only start after the current one finishes.
Note: Not updating your payment details does not necessarily lead to subscription cancellation.'

Well, this is weird, because:

1) If my expiry date is on January 27, how come my credit card was already tried more than one month earlier???
2) My credit card is OK, no problems, not blocked, nothing
3) I logged into my account, and under "Subscriptions" everything is OK there, saying the next charge will be on Jan. 12. Also,  my Activation Code is mentioned there, and there is a button at the bottom saying "unsubscribe".
What is this all about and how can I keep my subscription and renew it with the same card, or maybe change it with another card which is impossible to do in my account.

I hope you can help me.
